Carson Birch founder, Kelly Hart, has an extensive background in the arts. She received her B. A. in Art History from the University of Oregon, Eugene, with an emphasis in primitive and tribal arts. In 1991 she attended the Sotheby’s American Arts Course, a one-year graduate level course in American fine and decorative arts. The course was based out of New York City, but included extensive travel to private collections and museums throughout the East Coast.

In 1992 she moved to Sun Valley, Idaho to pursue a career in gallery sales as an assistant at Gail Severn Gallery and later Assistant Director then Director at the Kneeland Gallery.

In 1999, Kelly became the Director of the Buhl Arts Council where she oversaw the programming, fundraising and marketing for the Council, which holds events and classes in visual, performing, and culinary arts. She recently completed a Masters Certificate in Arts Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Most recently, Kelly has been asked to serve as Executive Director of Allied Arts for Whatcom County, a multi-disciplinary collaborative arts organization in Bellingham, WA.

Kelly has served on a number of boards and committees such as a Member-At- Large for the Idaho Commission on the Arts and as a Board Member for the Twin Falls Country HealthNet Youth Asset Development Coalition, and the Buhl Chamber of Commerce.
